Related to addressable fire alarm systems, cause and effects refers to how the system has been programmed to respond to certain events. This would include a building with lifts having those lifts grounded in the event of an activation. A cause & effects test will review all programmed inputs/outputs to ensure the system is working as designed.
A cause & effects test will require you to provide the original C&E matrix that would have been produced as part of the Fire Alarm installation. If this document cannot be located, we would be able to quote to produce a new C&E matrix based on observations made during a test, our engineers will also be able to produce further recommendations if certain elements are not working as they should.
