Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 Fire doors should be inspected and maintained at least annually. Fire Doors form a significant aspect of a buildings overall Fire safety and many people do not realise they need to be at a minimum checked annually to ensure they are able to function as designed.

Depending on the use of the building, more frequent checks might be needed, particularly in buildings where certain doors are subjected to high usage (such as in hospitals, or schools).  BS9999 recommends six monthly inspections and that will usually be the frequency we recommend to ensure they are kept in good working order.
