The first EN approved Self-Testing fire detector
Discover the ground-breaking advancements in fire safety technology with Honeywell Gent Self-Test, the gold winner of the prestigious Edison Innovation ‘Safety & Security’ award. Self-Test detectors feature an internal module that generates smoke, allowing for functional testing of the optical sensor. A small fan expels the smoke through designated smoke entry points, ensuring unobstructed detection in the event of a real fire. Additionally, the internal thermistor is safely heated, providing the functional test of the heat sensor. With an internal Bluetooth Low Energy Emitter (BLE), the detectors automatically connect to a mobile phone App (CLSS), which enables engineers to easily locate, inspect and check that the device labelling information is correct throughout the building.
Honeywell Gent Self-Test delivers:
- Award-winning innovation, backed by 14 granted patents
- Functionally test any size system within 35 minutes
- Capture visual inspection compliance digitally through the App and Bluetooth
- Capture corrective actions during the visual inspection to improve building safety
- Increase engineer efficiency during the maintenance and commissioning phases
- Reduce system downtime and risk, and eliminate associated Fire Watch costs
- Achieve 100% functional sensor testing, including hard-to-access areas and voids
- Minimise disruptions to building operations and occupants during testing
- Achieve compliance reporting in line with a new British Standard, BS 6644-1 Digital management of fire safety information
